Preserving Paradise Facilitator Resources & Materials<\/p><\/h3><\/div>

People from diverse backgrounds and skill levels have successfully facilitated the Preserving Paradise Simulation. With some preparation, you can facilitate this interactive exercise on your own, enabling participants to explore how to tackle the tension between economic growth and environmental degradation.<\/p>\n

It walks you through the entire process of running the PPS. It includes hints from preparation and room setup over sample scripts to debrief techniques.<\/p>\n

Presentation Slides<\/strong><\/a> \u2013<\/strong> Present these slides to your participants: introduce the topic, the role-play guidelines, and background details related to the topic.<\/p>\n

Tips for facilitating an event online \u2013 <\/strong>Explore our tips on leading a virtual version of the Preserving Paradise Simulation using an online platform (like Zoom).<\/p>\n

Online Worksheet<\/strong><\/a> – Use this worksheet to assign your participants to interest groups ahead of time. Provide them their briefing sheets and virtual backgrounds. We recommend \u201ccopy and pasting\u201d the contents of this sheet to your own online version so that you can edit it and share it with your participants. Delete excess interest groups.<\/p>\n

Briefing Statements \u2013<\/strong>To provide background information used to orient participants in a Wasted Paradise Action Simulation to their assigned roles. You can choose to use the 3 interest groups or the 4 interest groups briefings based on the size of your group and the time allotted. The 3 interest groups version is good for small groups (6-18 people) or for large events with less time, whereas the 4 interest groups version enables greater engagement by all participants.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
